Mary Petersen

Mary Ann Elizabeth Petersen was born November 21, 1925 at her home in Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota the daughter of Wilfred and Della Garrow. She passed away on August 6, 2010 in Montevideo, Minnesota at the age of 84. Mary Ann grew up and attended school near Ivanhoe, in Lake Benton and Marshall. She proudly received her GED in 1992 at the age of 67.On December 9, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harley Petersen in Florence, South Carolina. The couple returned to the Marshall area and began their family. To this union 9 children were born.She was a loving mother and devoted wife who cared for the house and children. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting, and fishing. She also enjoyed trips to Texas with her husband. In 2001 she moved to Montevideo and recently into Golden Assisted Living.Mary Ann is survived by her children: Janet (Ralph) Hensley of Franklin, Minnesota; Harlan (Amy) Petersen of Janesville, Minnesota; Dolly (Rich) Kremin of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; Arla (Ivan) Stueckrath of Milan, Minnesota; Charles (Sally) Petersen of Dawson, Minnesota; Roger (Charmaine) Petersen of Canby, Minnesota; Bernard (Linda) Petersen of Marshall, Minnesota; Lucinda Burton of Rogersville, Tennessee; Curtis (Mary) Petersen of Redwood Falls, Minnesota. 29 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 24 step great grandchildren; and 8 sisters.She was preceded in death by her husband Harley, parents Wilfred and Della. five sisters, one brother; three grandsons, a great granddaughter and a son-in-law.
