Mary Haugerud

Margaret Mary Haugerud was born June 29, 1934 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Emery and Florence Chartier. She passed away Friday August 9, 2013 at the Clara City Care Center. Mary was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Johns Catholic Church in Marquette. She attended St. Johns Grade School and later graduated from Baraga High School in Marquette with the class of 1951. On May 10, 1967 Margaret was united in marriage to Orvin Haugerud in Kellogg, Idaho. They settled in Montevideo where, in addition to raising her family, Mary worked outside the home and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband Orvin of Montevideo; children: William and Paula of Parker, Colorado; Chrys and Tim Kolhei of Montevideo; Jerry Haugerud of Montevideo; six grandchildren; sisters: Sally and Glen Johnson of Marquette; Ann and Tom O'Gormann of California; Judy and Ted Shelley of California. Margaret was preceded in death by parents, Emery and Florence Chartier.
