Marvin Fuhrmeister

Marvin Otto Fuhrmeister was born December 10, 1929 in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Otto and Edna (Drewes) Fuhrmeister. He was baptized in 1933 and grew up in the Rochester area.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army receiving his honorable discharge on December 25, 1948.
On May 5, 1951 Marvin was united in marriage to Loretta Thein in Clara City. To this union five children were born. They made their home in Clara City and Marvin worked in sales at Thein Implement. He retired in 1980 and Marvin and Loretta enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Marvin served as the Fire Chief on the Clara City Volunteer Fire Department, and also as a special deputy for the Chippewa County Sheriffs Department. He was active with the 40 and 8 and was a former commander with the Clara City American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, woodworking, and playing cards. Marvin was a member of St. Clara Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and was a former Boy Scout leader.
Marvin passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. He attained the age of 87 years.
Marvin is survived by his children: Wendy Fuhrmeister of Montevideo; Peggy (Gary) Christianson of Dassel; Jeff (Kim) Fuhrmeister of Murphy, Texas; Jerry (Dawn) Fuhrmeister of Centerville; and Julie (Mitch) Hufana of Schertz, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Vyla Brandt of Wabasha; Bonnie (Ronnie) Behne of Arizona; Ron (Monica) Fuhrmeister of North Carolina; Lawrence Fuhrmeister of Rochester; Kenneth (Peggy) Fuhrmeister of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Edna; wife, Loretta in 2003; sister, Jean Kirlin and a sister in infancy; and special friend, Vivian Boike.
