Martha Kuhlmann, age 92, of Montevideo passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at CCM Health in Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with interment following at Terrace Lawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Martha Elizabeth Kuhlmann was born November 9, 1930 in Villard, the daughter of Glen and Jennie (Fouts) Lee. She attended school in Villard and graduated in 1948, she later furthered her education at the Minneapolis Business School.
It was during college that Martha met the love of her life, Roger Kuhlmann. They were united in marriage on April 21, 1951 at Camp Rucker, Alabama while Roger was serving his country. The couple began their life together and after their time living on military bases, they moved back to Minnesota. First to Granite Falls in 1953 and finally settled in Montevideo in 1955.
Martha’s life was centered on her faith in God and her family. She loved being a homemaker and everything that vocation entails. Martha was a fantastic gardener and cook. Her love was her husband and children and later the grandchildren that were added to her ever growing family. Martha was a master at getting things done and taking care of the details. She will be remembered for her genuine thoughtfulness and concern she had for others.
Martha is survived by her dear children, Kathi Lundstrom of Stuart, FL, Barb (Mark) Moxness of Rio Verde, AZ, Nancy Bergeland of Madison, MN, Mary Kuhlmann of Fountain Hills, AZ, Jon Kuhlmann of Montevideo; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Jennie; husband, Roger Kuhlmann; son-in-law, Jerry Bergeland.
