Marlys Johnson

Marlys Darlene Johnson was born April 3, 1932 in Montevideo, MN. The daughter of Arthur and Evelyn Himley. She passed away Wednesday February 27, 2013 at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, MN.She was baptized at Our SaviorÂ?s Lutheran Church in Montevideo, MN. and confirmed at Mandt Lutheran Church. Marlys attended school in the Montevideo area.On July 8, 1951, Marlys was united in marriage to Elroy K.Johnson at Mandt Lutheran Church. To this union three daughters were born. They made their home and raised their family in Granite Falls, MN. Elroy passed away in 1987.Marlys worked for many years as a retail sales clerk. On September 10, 1991 she was united in marriage to Chester Morris in Clear Lake, SD.Marlys enjoyed crossword puzzles and embroidery, watching sports and fishing. One of her favorite things was getting together with her Sewing Club friends for over 50 years. She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Marlys is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Michiel) Docken of Hutchinson, MN; Pamela (Dean) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI; Julie (Lee) Luepke of Granite Falls, MN; 8 grandchildren;sisters: Jean Goulson of Fairmont, MN; Ardis Bergeson of Dawson, MN; Janice (Jerry) Iverson of Bloomer, WI;Sharon (Scott) Belsaas of Eden Prairie, MN; brothers: Ron Himley of Cushing, WI; Steve (Sandy) Himley of Brooklyn Center, MN and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Evelyn, husband Elroy Johnson, and husband Chester Morris and a brother Gary Himley.
