Marlys Lundin Christenson, 72, of Cottonwood, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7th at 1:00 pm at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Funeral arrangements are with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
Marlys Ann Lundin was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota on March 17th, 1950, the daughter of Laurents and Idella Enstad. She was baptized and confirmed at Stony Run Lutheran Church. Marlys attended Granite Falls High School.
Marlys was united in marriage to Jerald Lundin on May 31st, 1968, in Watertown, South Dakota. They raised four children: Bob, Bruce, Melissa and Barry.
Marlys worked in the nursing field for many years and had a heart of gold. She brought so much joy and comfort to those she cared for throughout the years. She enjoyed listening to country music, watching the Vikings games, playing games on her tablet, shopping trips to Sioux Falls and most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
She was known for her fun, humorous and witty personality. She was quick to make a joke and always made those around her smile and laugh.
Marlys is survived by her children: Bob (Stephanie) Lundin of Tea, SD, Bruce (Tanya) Lundin of Hanley Falls, MN, Melissa (Nathan) Doose of Marshall, MN and Barry Lundin of Apple Valley, MN; 8 grandchildren: Cael and Blake Lundin, Tyler, Brynn and Tessa Lundin, Miranda, Paige and Carson Doose; 1 great-grandchild: Declan Lundin; former husband: Jerald Lundin of Granite Falls, MN; brothers: Berger (Marlene) Enstad of Sun Prairie, WI, Dennis Enstad of Montevideo, MN; sister-in-law: Dixie Johnson of Granite Falls, MN; special friend: Ken Turbes of Marshall, MN; extended family and friends and her beloved dog Daisy May.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Laurents and Idella Enstad; brothers: Allen and David Enstad; sisters: Corrine Steffen, Glenda Worsech and Ina Harbor; sisters-in-law: Shirley Enstad and Debra Enstad; brothers-in-law: John Worsech and Dwayne Harbor. Blessed be her memory.
