Marlyne Mae Dodd was born April 15, 1933 in Montevideo, Minnesota. She passed away Saturday May 12, 2012 at the New Richland Care Center surrounded by her loving family.Marlyne was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Bethany Reformed Church of Clara City. She grew up and attended school in Clara City and was raised in a loving home by her mother Tillie Osmundson.After graduating from Clara City High School she moved to Montevideo and worked as a legal secretary for the Kief and Kief Law Firm.On May 9, 1958, Marlyne was united in marriage to Leo Dodd at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. To this union three children were born.Marlyne and Leo lived and farmed in Rosewood Township where they raised their family; she cared for their home and was an active member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church. In their retirement years, they lived in Glenwood and were members of United Parish Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher, served on the mission committee, and was on the Chippewa County Board of Women Council. Marlyne belonged to the homemakers club, the birthday club in Montevideo and Glenwood, and was a hospice volunteer. Marlyne enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling across the United States and made trips to the United Kingdom twice and to Nova Scotia on her 70th birthday. She was a good listener and understood the value of a good friendship. She is survived by her husband Leo Dodd of New Richland; son: Clay (Laura) Dodd of Bloomington; daughters: Lisa Dodd (Jeff Torp) of Ellendale; Heidi Dodd of Minneapolis; six grandchildren: Thomas, Wesley, Maude, Jordan, Abigail, and Cecelia; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.Marlyne was preceded in death by her mother Telea "Tillie" Osmundson.
