Marlene Walstrom, age 80, of Montevideo, Minnesota passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at CCM Health in Montevideo. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM Noon – 2:00 PM, with a prayer service at 2:00 PM at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo. Spring interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Marlene Claire Walstrom was born October 11, 1943 to Clayton and Lavina (Ahrndt) Walstrom in Benson, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Havelock Lutheran Church. She graduated from Benson High School.
Marlene worked in the catering business with her brother John for over 30 years. She also enjoyed her job at the Montevideo VFW selling pull tabs for many years.
Marlene was an independent, talented, one-of-a-kind lady, and it was usually her way or the highway. If she loved you, she made sure you knew it.
Marlene is survived by her son, Douglas Paulsrud of Benson; sister, Gayle Bradford of Apache Junction, AZ; longtime friend and care taker, Robin Enevoldsen of Watson; granddaughter, Leah; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as other nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lavina; daughter, Denise Paulsrud; son, Mark Walstrom; brothers, David Walstrom and John Walstrom; great grandson, Zachary.
