Mark Rhode, 66, of Clara City, passed away on Wednesday, September 8th at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 2 to 6 pm at the Clara City Community Center.

Mark Joseph Rhode was born August 27, 1955, the son of Irvin and Bonnie Rhode, in Willmar. He was baptized on September 4, 1955. Mark graduated from the Clara City High School in 1974. He continued his education at Pipestone Vo-Tech.

Mark was united in marriage to Nancy Day in 1976. They lived in Clara City and Raymond and raised their children, Philip, Stacy and Neal.

Mark worked in the grocery business and eventually owned and operated the grocery store in Clara City with his brothers Wayne and Greg for 16 years. He later worked at Donner’s Crossroads until his retirement in 2019.

Mark was united in marriage to Melissa Fischer in 2012. Together they raised their daughter Nicole. Mark enjoyed spending time outdoors or at the lake, swimming, hunting and fishing. He loved the time spent with his children and grandchildren and passing his knowledge of the outdoors on to them.

Mark passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at his residence. He was 66 years of age.

He is survived by his wife Missy; four children: Philip Rhode of Litchfield, Stacy (Todd) Broberg of Renville, Neal Rhode of Sauk Center and Nicole Rhode of Clara City; two grandsons: Riley and Andrew Broberg; five siblings: Andy Rhode of Clara City, Wayne (Marilyne) Rhode of Clara City, Greg (Kristie) Rhode of Clara City, Marilyne (Albert) Morisette of Osakis and Stan (Traci) Rhode of Clara City; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
