Mark Obrovac, 61, of Granite Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 am to Noon on Monday, August 14th at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls.
Mark Obrovac was born March 22, 1962, the son of Louis and Nelda Obrovac in Canton, Ohio. He spent his childhood growing up in Southern California. He graduated from the Bloomington High School in 1980. This is where he met his future wife Julia. Following high school Mark began working in construction. He was united in marriage with Julia Lawrence in Granite Falls. They spent 25 wonderful years together and she was the love of his life.
He joined Fagen Inc. in August of 1995. He started out as a Carpenter and moved up the ranks, working as a Concrete Finisher, Civil Field Foreman, Civil General Foreman and Civil Superintendent. Mark truly loved his job and especially the folks that worked along side him. They were more than co-workers, they were family.
He is survived by his children: Steve Pfarr and Hilliary Laakso; son in law Felix Lara and his partner Diane Koch; grandchildren: Max, Marley, Paige and Robert; sisters: Jean (Rick) Johnson and Elsie Aguirre and sister-in-law Dona Bucklely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julia in 2016, his brother Richard and brother-in-law Bobbie Aguirre.
