Marjory Edna Grace was born November 6, 1914 to Michael and Eva Grace in rural Maynard. She passed away Friday May 30, 2014 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. When she was six years old, the family moved to a farm near Barnum, and four years later they moved to a farm near Grand Meadow where she graduated from high school in 1931. Marjory attended Teachers Training Department in Grand Meadow and later the summer school at State Teachers’ College in Duluth. She taught school in rural Chippewa County and was passionate about teaching until she met the love of her life and married Carl Danielson June 13, 1939. She became a full time homemaker while they farmed in Stony Run Township in Yellow Medicine County. Four children were born to them: Richard, Karen, Dianne, and Linda. She had been baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was an active member of the Bergen Lutheran Church. Marjory participated in Bergen’s women’s activities, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the library board, the Senior Link Visitation Committee, the Bergen quilters and homemakers’ group. She enjoyed reading, gardening, family trips and outings and her children’s and grandchildren’s church, school and 4-H activities. Another one of her interests was genealogy, especially the Grace family from Ireland, the Eddy family from England and the Danielson family from Norway. She is survived by her three daughters: Karen (Jerry) Lemcke of Granite Falls, Dianne (Don) Hagen of Hutchinson, Linda (Larry) Zitzow of Grand Forks, and daughter-in-law Sally Nordby of St. Anthony Village; 10 grandchildren: Matt Danielson, Jill Hallonquist, Betsy Buffington, Randy Lemcke, Rich Lemcke, Jeff Hagen, Jason Hagen, Steve Zitzow, Amy Werre and Becky Anderson; 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl in 1983, son Richard in 1988, grandson Brent Lemcke in 2001, sisters Etta Danielson, Flossie Halverson, brothers Donald, Robert and Gordon.
