Marjorie Bovee

Marjorie Esther Bovee was born to Nels A. Pedersen and Leila M. (Holzer) Pedersen on March 21, 1926 in Montevideo, Minnesota. Marjorie grew up in Montevideo and there she also spent most of her life. She graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1944. Upon graduation from high school, she attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and subsequently graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She married Glenn Bovee, also of Montevideo, on August 17, 1947 at the old First Baptist Church at the corner of Sherman Avenue and 3rd Street in Montevideo. After marriage, Marjorie and Glenn lived and worked in various communities in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa but returned to live and work in Montevideo in 1952. They were members of the First Baptist Church until 1958. At that time the family joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Also in 1958, Marjorie began working as a clerk for the Chippewa County Probate Court. She was appointed Probate Registrar in 1972 and retired from that position in 1988. After retirement Marjorie and Glenn worked as part-time bailiffs for the Minnesota 8th Judicial District until 1996.Marjorie Esther (Pedersen) Bovee died on June 17, 2010 at the CentraCare Health System's St. Cloud Hospital. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her father Nels, her mother Leila, her brother Robert Pedersen, and her sister Shirley (Pedersen) Wall. Marjorie is survived by her four sons; Robert (Connie) of Macungie, PA; David (Sheila) of Dawson, MN; James (Deborah) of Decorah, IA; and George (Kimberlee) of Farmington, MN. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Heden of Madison Heights, VA; her sister-in-law Harriet Pedersen of Palo Alto, CA; and her brother-in-law Floyd Wall of Prior Lake, MN. She is survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
