Marion Meier

June 14, 1923 — February 14, 2010

Marion Myrtle Meier was born on June 14, 1923, in Lockport, NY, the daughter of Merritt S. and Myrtle M. (Bigelow) Bradley. Marion had one sister- Dorothy and one brother- Ellsworth who died at birth. She moved with her family to several locations during the Depression and finally settled in California. She graduated from Bell High School in Bell, CA. While living in California, Marion met Martin Meier. They were united in marriage on October 27, 1944 in California, where they continued to reside until 1948. They moved to Worthington, MN and then to a farm south of Fulda in 1950, where they farmed for several years. In 1955, they moved to a farm south of Montevideo where they farmed until 1984. They relocated to Lake Shetek in southwestern Minnesota, where they resided until moving to Champlin, MN in 1997. Marty and Marion were long time members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and Marion enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and reading. She also was active in HomemakerÂ?s Club, Bible Studies and loved to bird watch. She was called from this life on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Home Front 1st, in Montevideo, MN. She was 86 years of age. Surviving family include her son- Karl (& Joyce) Meier of Redding, CA; her two daughters- Laurie Peka of Ironton, MN and Julie Negen of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren- Michael Meier of CA, Matthew Meier of CA, Heather Meier of CA, Amanda Peka of Crystal, MN, Emily Peka of Champlin, MN, Adam Negen and Sarah Negen both of Alexandria, MN and Jesse Negen of Montevideo, MN; great-grandchildren Jade,Trey,Bradley, Nicholas, Savana and Joshua She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; one brother and a grandson- Derek Negen.
