Marion Gladys Golden was born in Chippewa County July 30, 1919, the daughter of George & Mary (Hillerud) Golden. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended first and second grade at District 54, Chippewa County. Following the familyÂ?s move to town, she attended Sibley Elementary School and Central School. She graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1938.After graduation, she was employed in the Agriculture Adjustment Administration. In 1944, she moved to Pullman, Washington where she worked in the Agriculture Extension Service at Washington State College (now WSU). After her return to Montevideo she was employed in the Engineering Department of Northern States Power Company. It was at NSP that she met Corwin. They were married October 19, 1956, at Hovland, Minnesota, on the North Shore of Lake Superior.Marion enjoyed reading, writing, working on puzzles, bird watching and her cats. Her hand written letters went to friends and relatives all over the country. Marion passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home. She was 91 years of age.Marion is survived by her husband Corwin; sister-in-law Betty of Lake Benton; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters and her brother-in-law Thurman.
