Marion Arneson, 94, of Granite Falls, passed away on Tuesday November 9th at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Memorials are preferred to Hospice, Living at Home-Block Nurse Program of Granite Falls or St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Marion Arneson was born February 3, 1927, the daughter of Joseph & Lea (Roy) Huot, in Wylie Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Dorothy. Marion attended a small country school near her home.

Marion was united in marriage to Alvin Arneson on October 6, 1947, at St. Dorothy Catholic Church. They lived in Eldred for several years before moving to Granite Falls in 1960. She was very active with the Granite Falls American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of several bridge clubs. She worked for Nokleby’s Bootery for many years. She was an active and faithful member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Marion was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading books, playing cards, especially Bridge, Rummy and Phase 10, and was always willing to learn a new game. Marion was a Minnesota sports fan and loved watching the Vikings and Twins. She also watched several different game shows. Family was very important to Marion and she loved spending time with them. Marion was called from this life at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, with her children at her side. She was 94 years of age.

She is survived by her children: Allen (RaeAnn) Arneson of Sleepy Eye, Cheryl (Frank) Homme of Granite Falls and Lana (Gib) Edman of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Sarah (Hee Soo) Jung of Madison, Wisconsin, Rachel Edman of Duluth, Deana LeBlanc of Granite Falls, Joseph (Jamie) Homme of Apple Valley, Ann (Leon) Steffl of Sleepy Eye, Toby (Jodi) Arneson of Sleepy Eye and Ted (Myron) Arneson of Phoenix, Arizona; great grandchildren: Adam, Alexa, A.J., Brooke and Blaine all of Sleepy Eye, Tristen of Winona, Natalie of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Emily & Kennedi of Granite Falls, Olivia and Eddie of Madison, Wisconsin, two brothers: Bernard (Evie) Huot of St. Hilaire and Dale (Arlene) Huot of Thief River Falls, and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, son Dean, twin grandchildren Leland and Leah, son-in-law Butch Edman and her siblings: Dorothy Rock, Ella Mae Vickery, Lorraine Bondley and Roy Huot.
