Marian Alice Harding was born July 27, 1917 in Montevideo the daughter of Ralph and Bess Lighter. She passed away Sunday March 10, 2013 at the Guardian Angels by the Lake Care Center in Elk River.She was baptized at the Church of God in Montevideo. Marian grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School with the class of 1935. In 1938 Marian was crowned Miss Montevideo. She attended beauty school at Brady and Rogers School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis and then returned home and managed Myrtle Beauty Shop. On July 7, 1940 Marian was united in marriage to Wayne Harding. To this union four children were born.Marian and Wayne raised their family in Montevideo where she was active in homemakers club, and Ladies Trainmen of Milwaukee Railroad Club. Marian was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family. Marian is survived by her children: Scott (Sharon) Harding of Watertown, Minnesota; Brian (Diane) Harding of Rogers; Jack Harding of Cathedral City, California; son-in-law David Gardner of North Pole Alaska; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph and Bess Lighter; husband: Wayne Harding in 1997; daughter: Gayla Gardner and sister Glenis Harding.
