Margot Corrine Shellenbarger, 71, of Montevideo passed in peace with her loving family by her side on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Clarkfield Care Center. Margot was born on June 8, 1948 in Granite Falls to Howard and Virginia “Jina” (Kittelson) Hultman. She was baptized and confirmed at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Margot attended Granite Falls High School and graduated on June 2, 1966. She attended Granite Falls Area Technical Institute and graduated in 1967. On April 20, 1968 she married Charles “Chuck” Shellenbarger.
Margot worked as a bookkeeper after graduation. She later worked at Woodland Centers where she greeted everyone with a warm smile. She enjoyed her 26 years there immensely and she always said she was so lucky to be able to look forward to going to work on Monday.
Margot loved her life on the farm and treasured time spent with her family and friends especially her grandson. Her granddogs also held a special place in her heart. She spent many nights at the racetrack cheering for her favorite late model driver and husband, Chuck. Margot loved time at their lake home in Glenwood and she spent many summer days and nights relaxing there with her Dad. She loved music of all kinds but Christmas songs were her favorite. Margot had a strong faith and loved her church family dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” of Montevideo, her daughters, Kimber (Kevin) Bratsch of Manassas, VA, Krystal (Brett) Koppes of Sarasota, FL, Tifany (Michael) Andresen of Montevideo, her grandson Ethan Andresen, sisters-in-law, Gayle Feragen, Carole Reilly, brother-in-law, Bob Shellenbarger, cousins and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Charles Sr. “Lyndon” and Louise Shellenbarger, grandparents, Emil and Alvina Kittelson and Oscar and Emma Hultman.
Margot was loved by many and she will be missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3rd at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
