Margaret "Marge" Hering

Margaret Anne Hering was born on April 29, 1953 in Montevideo, Minnesota, the second of five children born to Vince and Betty (Johnson) Siverhus. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home in Montevideo.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo and graduated from Maynard High School. Marge loved growing up on the family farm, being involved in 4-H, cheerleading and many friendships.
Marge’s marriage to Bob Haff was blessed by their first child, Jeff, in 1972 and in 1976, their daughter, Angie. Several years later, Marge moved to Alexandria with Jeff and Angie where she worked as a manager at the Radisson Arrowwood Resort.
While in Alexandria, Marge met and married John DenHartigh. They welcomed their son Jonathon in 1982. The family enjoyed their lake home; boating and tubing during the summers, ice skating in the winter and welcomed family visits.
Marge and her family moved to Hudson, Wisconsin, where they opened a restaurant called ACT II. Marge very much enjoyed working with her family in the restaurant business and opened a second restaurant, Scene 1, in River Falls.
While in Wisconsin, her vision of starting a child transport service became a reality and she lovingly named and operated it as “Wee Chauffeur”. Marge met Don Hering and his children, Trisha and Steven. Their lives were very busy and as a result, they decided to settle down and move back to Montevideo. In July, 1999, Marge and Don were joined in holy matrimony at their home in Montevideo which was at one time Marge’s grandparents’ house. After remodeling that home, they took on the task of remodeling their home on Hwy 7, where they also enjoyed raising pumpkins and sharing their harvest with the community and friends.
After moving back into town, she and Don remodeled their current home, welcomed four grandchildren and spent time making memories with their kids, grandkids, family and friends. Marge took pride in making her flower gardens beautiful and loved the quiet and contentment that she and Don enjoyed in her flower garden and his vegetable garden.
Marge is survived by her husband Don Hering of Montevideo; daughter: Angie Richardson (Brian) of Montevideo; son: Jonathon (Michelle) DenHartigh of Montevideo. stepchildren: Trisha Hering (Brendan) of Montevideo; Steven Hering of Hudson, Wisconsin. grandchildren: Asher and Adrian Richardson, Audrey and Jeffrey DenHartigh and Brian’s son’s Brad and Jack Kaiser; sisters: Rita Smith of Montevideo; Theresa Siverhus of St. Paul; brother: Greg (Bonnie) Siverhus of Surprise, Arizona; sister-in-law: Kathy Hering of Sierra Vista, Arizona; brothers-in-law: Rick Hering of Crystal; Jim (Cindy) Hering of White Bear Lake; Bob (Amy) Hering of Roberts, Wisconsin and John (Laurie) Hering of Shoreview; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Vincent and Betty Siverhus, son Jeff Haff, brother Paul Siverhus; mother and father-in-law Robert and Sally Hering and Brian’s son: Dylan Kaiser.
