Margaret Olivia (Fuglemsmo) Bjorge was born on September 19, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Olaf and Laura (Stoen) Fuglemsmo. She was baptized in the Norwegian language at St. John Lutheran Church in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School, and Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. On August 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to John Bjorge at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Maggie moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota in January 1959 where she spent 58 years before moving to the Twin Cities. She raised three children. Margaret was active in Circle, WELCA, Red Hat Society, and the Kilowatt Community Center. She took up golf when the kids were older, and enjoyed golfing with John three times a week.
Maggie enjoyed traveling and sports. She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. She and her husband traveled both throughout the U.S. and abroad. Some of her favorite places were Branson, Missouri, Boca Raton, Florida, Norway and Israel.
Maggie was called peacefully by her Lord on Saturday, October 26th, while a resident of Saint Andrew’s Village, Mahtomedi, Minnesota. She was 91 years old.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years – John Bjorge, parents, Olaf and Laura Fuglemsmo and brothers, Einar, Norman and sister, Carol.
Maggie is survived by son, John (Jill) Bjorge of Shoreline, WA; daughter, Lisa (Tom) Frye of Oakdale, MN; daughter, Marit (Alex) Brothern of Stillwater, MN; 7 grandchildren: Jack, Kirsten & Peter Bjorge, John and Michael Frye, and Kate & Laura Brothern; one sister, Esther Paulson of Custer, SD.
Maggie wanted to end with these words: “I loved the Lord, I loved my family”
