Mabel Aeikens

Mabel T. Aeikens was born on August 26, 1919, in Clara City, the daughter of Koert and Maggie Tebben. She grew up in the Clara City area and completed her education through the 8th grade.On February 24, 1937, she married Fred K. Aeikens in the Bethany Reformed Church Parsonage and was a faithful member of Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. She assisted Fred in their farming operation for many years. Fred passed away in 2007 and at the time of her death, Mabel was a resident of Prairie Park Place in Clara City. Mabel enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, participating in church activities, cooking and took great pride in her homemaking skills. She was called from this life on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. She was 93 years of age. Surviving Mabel are her children- Leo (& Sara) Aeikens of Albert Lea, Eldon Aeikens of Maynard, Lynn (& Verlyn) Aeikens of Maynard, Joyce (& Randy) Ronning of Willmar, and LaVonne (& Mark) Erickson of Sacred Heart; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred in 2007, two brothers- Kasjen Tebben & John L. Tebben and her daughter-in-law Karen Aeikens.
