Lynn Sandberg, age 71 of Crystal, Minnesota passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Hilden Sandberg, Louise Eleanor (Sheimo) Sandberg and her brother Mark Bruce Sandberg. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Paul, many cousins and her good friend Jan.
Lynn was born on May 18, 1950 in Granite Falls, Minnesota. She attended the Granite Falls Elementary and High School until her Senior year when she transferred to the Willmar High School where she earned her diploma. Lynn attended the Willmar Community College for two years before transferring to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She earned a liberal arts degree in Anthropology in 1972.
Following graduation from the U of M, Lynn was employed by Honeywell/Alliant Tech Systems, where she worked for the next 15 years. When Honeywell downsized she was employed by Humphrey’s Associates where she worked for the next 25 years. Her work there included monitoring agencies who had work contracts with the Federal Government and writing policy and manuals. Lynn was dedicated and diligent in her employment and was well-respected by her co-workers and employers.
Between Honeywell and Humphrey’s, Lynn volunteered in a number of places, including Planned Parenthood. When the Ruby Slipper Exhibit came to Minneapolis she served as a docent.
Lynn had an irreverent awesome sense of humor and wasn’t afraid of laughing at herself. She was known for speaking her mind and was intelligent and quick-witted. She loved being Norwegian and her accent became thick and strong when it suited her. Lynn shared a love of antiques with her Dad. She was a collector on her own and later when Bruce passed she collected his collection as well. Lynn had a gift with the sewing machine and made beautiful quilts and other fabric and thread wonders. She also crafted lovely beaded jewelry.
Many loved ones were there to greet Lynn when she arrived on the other side, waiting was Lynn’s beloved dog, Lobo a German Shepard/Wolf mix that she owned in the earlier part of her adult life. She loved that dog!
