Lucille Christine Klein was born on Jan. 17, 1924, near Maynard, MN, the daughter of William and Christine Hubel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and graduated from high school in Maynard, MN.
On Aug. 13, 1945, Lucille was united in marriage to Leonard Klein in Clara City, MN. They made their home in the Maynard/Clara City area where Leonard worked for the US Postal service for 39 years.
Lucille was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She looked forward to family get-togethers and loved to play cards, bingo and win at the casino. She was a member of Card Club and, in her younger days, was active in the church, delivered Meals on Wheels and bowled. She also enjoyed going on trips with Leonard, but only in the car, as she was afraid of flying. She had a spunky zest for life, but was quiet in her motherly ways.
In the late evening hours of Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, Lucille was called from this life while a resident of the Clara City Care Center. She was 92 years of age.
Surviving family include her children- Dan (& Diane) Klein of Willmar, MN, Kevin (& Linda) Klein of Motley, MN, Leonard ‘Butch’ (& Linda Klein) of Quartzsite, AZ and LaVonne ‘Bonnie’ (& Tim) O’ Connell of Hackensack, MN; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and extended family.
