Luann Strommer

LuAnn Alice Strommer was born January 23, 1942 in Montevideo, the daughter of Louis and Alice Ketelsen. She was baptized March 15, 1942 and confirmed June 5, 1955 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. LuAnn grew up and attended 8 years of school at District #10, southwest of Montevideo in Lac Qui Parle County. She then attended and graduated on May 28, 1959 from Montevideo Central High School. On June 20, 1959 LuAnn was united in marriage to Robert Strommer of Montevideo. She lived in Montevideo all her life and worked at the Hollywood and Starlite theaters, NW National Life Insurance and finally found her career at Minnwest Bank Central, working there for 45 years until her retirement October 31, 2008. Luann is survived by her daughters: Beverly (Michael) Franke of Warsaw, Bonita (Kevin) Terning of Maynard; special companion Dick Oakland of Montevideo; granddaughters: Tabitha Terning (friend Cody) of Montevideo; Dana Franke of Warsaw; grandsons: Ryan Franke (friend Samantha) of Morristown; Cole Terning (friend Paige) of Montevideo; Scott (Beth) Terning of Bismarck, North Dakota; Chris (Jamie) Terning of Concord, California; Shawn (Trish) Terning of Kandiyohi; great grand children: Isabella, Ryan, Haley, Avery, McKaylee, Jaydn, Madison, Hunter, Dominick, Reagan, and Ethan; sister: Beverly (Dennis) Groothuis of Montevideo; brother: Wesley (Wanda) Ketelsen of Maple Grove; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Leo Strommer in 1992; son: Daniel Paul in 1959; and her parents: Louis and Alice Ketelsen. LuAnn passed away February 9, 2012 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 70 years. Blessed be her memory.
