Lowell Dennis Knapper was born April 25, 1947, in Willmar, the son of Alvin and Lorraine (Bulthuis) Knapper. He passed away September 17, 2013, at his home in Clara City. He grew up and attended school in the Pennock and Svea areas before attending high school in Danube. On March 1, 1968 Lowell was united in marriage to Connie Mae Asche at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. To this union four children were born. Lowell was involved in construction, working for both Vreeman and Dunnick's Construction companies. He later worked at Cargill and was involved in farming, and served as custodian at Bethany Reformed Church. He drove bus for over thirty years for Berghuis Bus Company and Palmer Bus service, serving as manager for the last twelve years. In his spare time, Lowell enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching races. He volunteered as the church bus driver and was known for his recycling. Lowell loved going to the lake, caring for his pets, and especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. Lowell is survived by his wife, Connie of Clara City; children: Shannon (Bob) Stoel of Prinsburg; Rick Knapper (special friend Lisa) of Clara City; Sheila (Chad) Schwitters of Minneapolis; Sonya (Ron) Chieves of Rochester; parents: Alvin and Lorraine Knapper of Roseland; grandchildren: TJ, Tanner and Elli Stoel, Sam, Kate and Joe Schwitters, Jake Knapper, RJ Chieves, and Aaliyah Lamb; brother: Roger (LeAnn) Knapper of Clara City; sisters: Val (Tom) Dolezal of Lonsdale; Jackie (Dave) Marcus of Orlando, Florida; father-in-law: Bruno Asche (special friend Sharon) of Willmar; sister-in-law: Deb (Gary) Slagter of Clara City; brother-in-law: Dale (Janet) Asche of Willmar; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by mothers-in-law: Grace Asche and Aleida Asche.
