Lorraine Marion Miller was born on April 1, 1926, in New England, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Dena Kunze. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, grew up and attended school in the New England area before moving to Montevideo with her parents in 1940. Lorraine lived most of her adult life in the Montevideo area and loved going on family picnics, going to garage sales and thrift stores. She worked hard to raise and provide for her family and was a fantastic cook, often known to make a meal out of nothing. Her favorite part of any meal was dessert. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, scrabble, her pets, wildlife, being outdoors and at the lake. Most of all, Lorraine cherished the time she was surrounded by her family. During later years, her daughter Bette was her caregiver and close companion. Bette attended to LorraineÂ?s needs and provided the care necessary to keep her from becoming a nursing home resident. Bette did a fantastic job. LorraineÂ?s entire family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Bette for making life in her final years dignified and comfortable. In the morning hours of Tuesday November 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Lorraine was called from this life.
