Lorraine Iverson was born March 8, 1932 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Burgess and Thelma Young. She passed away Saturday July 7, 2012 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.Lorraine grew up and attended school in Redwood Falls and was baptized into the Christian Faith on August 16, 1942. On June 11, 1949 Lorraine was united in marriage to Clair Iverson in Redwood Falls. This union was blessed with four children. In 1956 Lorraine and Clair moved to Montevideo.Lorraine was a loving mother raising the kids and also working outside the home. She worked at the Highway Café, S&L Clothing Store and later as a cook for both the school and Prairie Five.She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. Lorraine enjoyed bird watching, baking, and camping. She and Clair spent many summers camping at Hobo Park in Starbuck. Lorraine loved her cat Candy that now lives with her daughter Betty.Lorraine is survived by her daughter: Betty (Vern) Althaus of Melrose; daughter-in-law: Julie Iverson of Benson; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister Phyllis (Jerry) Cross of Buffalo; and other extended family.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clair Iverson in 2007; sons: Ron Iverson, Scott Iverson, and Michael Iverson; brothers: Carol "Bud" Young, Ervin "Dick" Young, and Milton "Mike" Young.
