Loretta Ann Knutson was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota, February 19, 1933, and passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Granite Falls, surrounded by her family and hospice care staff and friends. Loretta bravely endured long-term debilitating damage from effects of cancer treatment.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf N. Knutson and Clara (Paulson) Knutson; her two sisters Jane (Knutson) Dahl and Virginia (Knutson) Swanson; four brothers, her twin who died in infancy, Marlein Knutson, Kermit Knutson, and Floyd Knutson.
Loretta had an especially close relationship with her sister, Jane, and family. She was devoted to her nieces and nephews and to her many great-nieces and nephews; she was a very special aunt who continued to stay deeply connected with each person’s life in the now extended family.
Loretta lived an active life, and loved visiting with friends and family. She will be remembered for her strong and loving devotion to others, her fun laughter and sense of humor, and her many acts of kindness. Loretta loved to walk, and her many miles were a source of strength even as her health declined.
