Loraine Thorkelson

Loraine Jessie Thorkelson was born on January 18, 1921 to Oscar and Louise Branvold in Jamestown, North Dakota. On January 21, 1945 she married Hagen Thorkelson. She died Sunday afternoon in the Granite Manor at the age of 91-1/2 years. Loraine loved her God, her church, her family and friends. She'll be remembered for her love of cookies and remembering so many through the years with one of her beautiful hand-written notes. Her essence was a life of service to others which manifested in complete joy and contentment. She loved you all. She is survived by her children: Tom (Nancy) of St. Peter; Mari (Pat) of Willmar; Hagen "Skip" of Minneapolis; Ann of Mankato; Bob (Theresa) of Baxter; grandchildren: Berit (Clint) of West St. Paul; BJ (Libby) of West St. Paul; Jackie of Clovis, California; Leah of Minneapolis; Erik of St. Peter and Abby and Jack of Baxter; great grandchildren: Royal, Arlo & Vera Loraine; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2003 and one brother.
