Lloyd Hanson was born October 14, 1920, in Canby, Minnesota, the son of Ole & Emma (Brusven) Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Church in Normania Township. He also attended country school in Normania Township.
On February 9 , 1941, he was united in marriage with Minnie Kruse. They had three daughters and one son.
Lloyd worked on family farms in his youth and in 1946, they moved to their own farm in Wang Township. He remained there until January of 2016, when he moved to Coon Rapids to live with his daughter Janice.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and playing cards, especially buck. He hunted every year and shot his last deer at 90. Lloyd loved his grandchildren and making us all laugh.
Lloyd passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was 96 years of age.
He is survived by his children: LaVonne Johnson; Sandra (Sherril) Bjornson; Curtis Hanson and Janice (Leroy) Kucera; grandchildren: Pam, Todd, Stacy, Scott B., Steven, Scott K., Kellie, Chad, Christi and Cassie; 18 great grandchildren; sisters: Amy Christiansen; Mary (Daniel) Kruse; brother Arden (JoAnn) Hanson; sisters-in-law: Mabel Jensen, Ann Kruse and Florence Kruse; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Minnie, grandson Philip, son-in-law Orland, five brothers: Alvin, Harry, Winfred, Manley and Orland, sister Evelyn and several nieces and nephews.
