LeRoy Dobmeier, 84, of Clara City, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Rice Memorial Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 3:00 pm at St. Clara Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 to 3 pm at St. Clara Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude's Hospital.
LeRoy Dobmeier was born April 24, 1939, in Hennepin County, Minnesota, the son of Marcella Achmann. He lived at the Owatonna State School. He began working at Jerry’s Restaurant as a dishwasher and bus boy and later at the Sheraton Ritz Hotel in Minneapolis. He moved to Canby and lived with Ferd & Cindy Full, his adopted family. He worked at the Red Owl and Super Value Store.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Sharon Baxter in Taunton, Minnesota on October 23, 1971. They moved to Willmar where he worked for Northern States Supply for 39 years. The family moved to Clara City in 1998. He also cleaned the Clara City Post Office for many years. He would always volunteer his time at St. Clara Catholic Church, where he was an active member. He delivered newspapers and Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed watching and helping with the school events at the MACCRAY School District. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes and softball games. LeRoy was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and loved helping people any way he could.
He is survived by his wife Sharon and children, David and Brandi, Suzanne, Jon, and Selena; grandchildren Nicole, Jennifer, Berto, Preston and Ari, Cassie, Elizabeth, Jacob, Layla, Emily, Lana and Orion; great grandchildren, Ivy, Makayla, Persephone, Lily, Aiden and Alistair. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Gina, Zachery and Henry.
