Lavonne Hanen

LaVonne Mary Hanen was born October 19, 1932, in Clara City, the daughter of Martin & Rose Behrends. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Clara Church in Clara City and attended school in Clara City, graduating from the St. Clara Catholic School. LaVonne was united in marriage with Ronald Hanen on August 6, 1952, in Clara City. Their union was blessed with eight children. LaVonne worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She enjoyed feeding her birds, gardening and sharing her bounty with friends and family. LaVonne loved cooking for the guys during harvest time. She also had a passion for canning and making jam. Her grandchildren couldn't wait to go into the pantry to pick out a jar of jam to take home. LaVonne passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at her residence. She was 79 years of age. She is survived by children: Mike (Deb) Hanen of Montevideo, Pam (Wayne) Berg of Climax, Laurie (Dan) Hammond of Aubrey, TX, Cindi (Randy) Viessman of Gary, SD, Patty (Brad) Berven of Pierre, SD, Dan (Kim Christians) Hanen of Montevideo and Doug (Tammy) Hanen of Montevideo; her grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Jason, Ashley, Chris, Corey, Nathan, Kelly, Joy, Jason, Chelsie, Justine, Kyle, Cynthia, Nick and Tiffany; great grandchildren: Valerie, Vanessa, Jared, Danielle, Laney, Madison, Maycie, Landon, Wylie, Kailyn, Mason, JJ, Kiah, Tyson, Lexey, Maddox, Teagan, Khloe, Bentley, Avery, Kayden, and Jasper; brother Earl (Donna) Behrends and sister-in-law Helen Behrends all of Willmar. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2011, her son Larry, grandson Lucas Piacenti, great grandson Carter Williamson, brother Gerald Behrends and nephew Jeff Behrends.
