Larry James Rothers was born September 11, 1947, in Montevideo, the son of Henry & Leona Rothers. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond on October 12, 1947 and confirmed on April 15, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Larry graduated from the Clara City High School in 1965, and graduated from the Mankato School of Business in 1967. He served his country in the United States Army from 1967, until he was honorably discharged in 1970. Larry went on to attend school in Bemidji graduating in 1974. He lived in Brooklyn Park and worked for the State of Minnesota as an accountant for 30 years, retiring in 2007. His hobbies consisted of reading and coin collecting. He made a yearly visit to Las Vegas with his brother Mike and enjoyed horse races, casinos and all sporting events. Larry passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at his brother's house in Willmar. He was 65 years of age. He is survived by his siblings: Karen Rothers of Clara City and Michael (Mary) Rothers of Willmar; nieces and nephews: Andrew Rothers of Willmar; Stephanie (Scott) Olson of Spicer; David (Mindie) Nurmi of Clara City; Kyle (Amy) Nurmi of Willmar and Sean (Andrea) Nurmi of Maynard; great nieces and nephews: Meghan & Nicholas McKenzie of Spicer; Ainsley, Addison, Averie Nurmi of Clara City; Hannah Nurmi of New London and Alexis & Zayden Nurmi of Maynard; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Leona.
