On June 24, 1953 a little boy was born to Herbert and Frances (Pitts) Kron. Larry had Down Syndrome and he was unable to attend public schools. His parents cared for him at home on the family farm near Clara City as long as they were able to meet his special needs. In October 1962, when he was nine years old, he went to live at the Champion Home in Duluth. He returned home in June 1966 until June 1968 when he became a resident of Cambridge State Hospital. He was transferred to Willmar in August of 1973 allowing him to be closer to his family. June 1975, Larry embraced his new home in Canby making many new friends and working on large furniture refinishing projects at the Canby DAC. After undergoing hip surgery in 2008, LarryĆ?s family moved him to Hearth Residential Homes in Clara City while he recovered. He loved home visits with his family and flying with his brother Howard. Fishing, listening to polka music, outings with his group home friends, playing basketball, and riding 3 Wheeler were favorite things to do. Due to failing health, Larry moved to the Clara City Care Center. In the early morning hours of Monday, February 15th, the Lord wrapped His arms around him and called him to his heavenly home. He was 56 years old.Cherishing their memories of Larry are his 3 sisters: Carol Griffith of Watertown, MN; Anita (Dean) Larson of Maplewood, MN; and Sue (Dave) Ahmann of Gilbert, AZ; his brother Howard (Joyce) Kron of Clara City; 14 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents Herbert and Frances.
