Kellie Ahrenholz, age 58, of Montevideo passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home. A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in New London, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Bethany Reformed Cemetery in Clara City.
Kellie Jean Ahrenholz was born on November 24, 1963, in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Monroe and Betty (Weaks) Elamon. She grew up in Monroe, attended school and continued living there until 1985 when she became a mother to Sheena. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where her son, Mark was born.
Kellie worked at various places through the years. Life brought changes, but eventually brought her to Minnesota and it was here while working at a café she met a special guy, Merle. On May 10, 2008 Kellie was united in marriage to Merlen Ahrenholz in New London, Minnesota. The couple enjoyed each other’s company and often Kellie would join Merle on the road when he drove semi. She loved working as second cook at the Montevideo High School by far being her favorite job she ever had.
Kellie enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle and going to the gun range shooting her pistol and shotgun. She valued spending time with her friends and family, no fuss, just being together. Her love of music and karaoke will be fondly remembered as well as her toughness that got her through.
Kellie is survived by her husband, Merlen Ahrenholz; children, Sheena Elamon, Mark Gilbertson, Mike (Shelly) Ahrenholz, Jesse Ahrenholz; grandchildren, Landon Werner, Noah Werner, Oaklynn Pruitt, Addison Gilbertson, Kyle Fank, Isabella Ahrenholz, Meekah Ahrenholz, Jacob Ahrenholz, McKenna Ahrenholz, Morgan Ahrenholz, Jesslyn Ahrenholz, Riley Ahrenholz; her dear dog, Skid; as well as other relatives and friends.
Kellie is preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Betty Elamon.
