Katie D Asche
April 27, 1921 — May 24, 2015
Katie Dorothea Asche was born on April 27, 1921, on the farm. She was the daughter of Tade & Dorothea Andresen. Katie attended country school until the 8th grade.
She was united in marriage to Peter Asche on June 27, 1940. Katie was a housewife & mother. She also worked at Yock Meyer V Store in Clara City until she and Peter retired and started going to Florida every winter for 18 years. Katie was very active in Ladies Aide at Bethany Reformed Church for many years and she helped out with Bible School every summer. Katie kept very busy with children and grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress. She loved to crochet doilies and hangers and enjoyed embroidery and doing needlework. She also made many, many quilts over the years. She and Peter always had an immaculate garden. Katie canned much of the bounty every fall to enjoy all winter long.
Katie passed away May 24, 2015 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after a short illness. She was 94 years of age. She was a woman of great faith and we will all miss her dearly.
She is survived by her three children: Charles (Terri) Asche of Maple Grove; Doris (Don) Bents of Pennock; & Duane (Susan) Asche of Dexon, Iowa and her sister-in-law Marion Andresen. She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter in 2000, her sister Sarah Wearda and her two brothers Egbert and Andres.
