Kathy Beavers

October 14, 1941 — July 16, 2012

Kathleen Ann Beavers was born in Minneapolis on October 14, 1941, the daughter of Harry & Joanna Anderson. Her family moved to Hopkins, where she graduated from the Hopkins High School in 1960. Kathy served her country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964. She then moved to Granite Falls. She was united in marriage to Harvey Beavers on September 10, 1966. Kathy worked at Plews, the Granite Falls High School as a janitor and then at the Firefly Creek Casino in maintenance and as a security officer. She was a member of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, the American Legion, American Legion Riders and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her passion was riding her motorcycle and also participating in Toy Runs. She enjoyed camping, bowling and spending time with her coffee friends & family. Kathy greatly appreciated the Hospice Sentimental Journey motorcycle ride she was able to go on and all the efforts of the Hospice team, volunteers and fellow riders. Kathy passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Granite Falls Manor. She was 70 years of age. She is survived by her husband Harvey, in-laws: Chet & Truly Beavers of Wood Lake and Sally Beavers of Granite Falls and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
