Kara Monson

Kara Ann Monson was born September 3, 1986 in Granite Falls, the daughter of Tom and Patrice Monson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Kara grew up and attended school in Granite Falls, graduating from Yellow Medicine East High School. She continued her education at Aveda Institute in Minneapolis receiving her degree in cosmetology. She returned to Granite Falls and began working as a stylist for Nirvana Salon & Spa in Montevideo and was currently working at Susie's Hair Company in Montevideo. Kara cherished the time with family and friends. She enjoyed living her life to the fullest. With her free spirit heart she showed us all the beauty of the world around us. Kara prided herself in creating a loving home for her daughter and strived at being the best mother she could be. Cherishing her memory is her daughter; mother Patrice Monson of Granite Falls; father Tom (Norma) Monson of Spicer; sister Jamie (Tim) Sheely of Maple Grove; step-sister Jen (Tom) Myers of Mankato, step-brother Jon (Jessie) Bruns of St. Joseph; maternal grandparents: Gary and Verona Dalin of Granite Falls and other extended family. Kara was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Lyle and Avis Monson.
