June Krogstad passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Clara City Care Center. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls.
June Rose Krogstad was born March 7, 1929, the daughter of Allen and Rose (Kling) Olson in Montevideo. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended country school east of Montevideo.
June met Gerald Krogstad on a blind date at the Minnesota State Fair. They were later united in marriage on July 18, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. To this union four children were born: John, Kenny, Paul and Rachelle. They began farming in 1957, where they raised their family.
They retired from farming in 1979 and later moved to town. June worked part time at Willies Korner Store and was active with the quilters at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and loved to spend time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren and the time she spent with them visiting and playing cards. June moved to Henry Hill in 2017, where she enjoyed visiting with friends at coffee time.
June peacefully passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Clara City Care Center. She was 93 years of age.
She is survived by her children: John Krogstad, Kenny Krogstad, Paul (Penny) Krogstad all of Granite Falls and Rachelle (Karl) Anderson of Sauk Rapids; eleven grandchildren: Jessie Wright, Kelly Krogstad, Dean Krogstad, Derek Krogstad, Kendra Lange, Abbey Krogstad, Emily Cossette , Korbyn Anderson, Kailyn Anderson, Taryn Anderson and Tristyn Anderson; 10 great grandchildren: Brendan, Mason, Gabbi, Viv, Torey, Rowan, Kenidy, Avery, Olivia and Keegan; sister Leona Lyngen of Montevideo and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Sharon Krogstad, siblings: Royal (Norma) Olson, Jule (Val) Olson, Dwain (Phyllis) Olson and Dorothy (Harold) Larson and brother-in-law Edward Lyngen.
