June Fokken

June Elaine Fokken was born September 2, 1924 in Montevideo the daughter of Wally and Verna (Guse) Albrecht. She went join the Lord on July 17, 2012 in the presence of her children at Bethesda Pleasant View in Willmar.She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. June grew up and attended school in Montevideo graduating with the class of 1942.On June 7, 1942 she was united in marriage to Egbert Fokken at the Bunde parsonage. To this union four children were born. They farmed near Bunde and were lifelong members of Bunde Christian Reformed Church. June enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and walking she especially enjoyed volunteering at the Clara City Care Center and was recognized for her many dedicated hours. Egbert passed away in 1981 and June remained on the farm until 2008 when she moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo. She has been under the care of Bethesda Nursing Home since June of 2011. She is survived by her children: Jim (Barb) Fokken of Hibbing; Karen Nieuwbeerta of Montevideo; Loren Fokken of Clara City; Edith (Gene) Tensen of Sunburg; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.June was preceded in death by her husband Egbert Fokken in 1981; grandson: Gregg Fokken in 2002; son in law Harlan Nieuwbeerta in 2004; Wherever a beautiful soul has been? there is a trail of beautiful memories- Blessed be her memory.
