Julia Eva Bredeson was born on November
7, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN; the daughter of Julius and Evelyn (Thatcher) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and attended elementary and high school in Granite Falls.

On February 3, 1962, Julia was united in marriage to Maurice E. Bredeson. They made their home in Granite Falls where Julia held ceramic classes and operated a ceramic shop. She was also employed at the video store, Norcraft and for a time, was a cook at Firefly Creek Casino.

Julia was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dining out, working with ceramics, etching glass and doing fancy crafts. She also loved her cats and dogs.

Julia died peacefully at home on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her husband Maurice of Granite Falls; her sons David (Julie) Bredeson of Granite Falls, Daniel (Molly) Bredeson of Appleton and Michael Bredeson of Maricopa, AZ; granddaughter Meghan Bredeson (Chris Bosch) of Maynard; sisters Marcella DeJong of Granite Falls and Josephine Geerdes of Elfrida, AZ; brothers Edward (Mary) Olson of Glenwood and Lawrence (Karen) Olson of Granite Falls; sister-in-law Delores (Harvey) Wieberdink of Hemet, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Evelyn Olson; father-in-law and mother-in-law Arville and Edna Bredeson; step father-in-law Fred Carlson; sister Helen Flickinger; brothers-in-law Jim DeJong and George Geerdes; niece Cathy Flickinger; nephews John Geerdes and Mark DeJong, and a sister in infancy.
