Jon Michael Moe was born August 11, 1973 to Michael & Joyce Moe. He joined his sister Kim and then a few years later Jenny graced our family. He died at home in Glenwood on October 07, 2013. Jon was baptized, confirmed and married at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. While he attended school in Montevideo, at a young age he was involved in Cub Scouts and football, and then graduated in 1991. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served his country for 4 years. He was stationed on the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson based out of San Diego, CA. Jon became a member of the VFW Post #380 Montevideo and was also involved with the VFW in Starbuck. Jon's interests included hunting, fishing, watching the Minnesota Vikings and most of all spending time with family and friends. He loved doing special things for the holidays & birthdays. Labor Day party, carving pumpkins, putting up as many Christmas lights as he could find, eating big meals and just getting together to name a few. His step children, Christopher & Sam, were very special to him as well as his nephews Michael, Brady and Jacob who he enjoyed teasing. March of 1999, Jon married Kim Holder Long. She was the love of his life. He could hardly wait to get home from work to see her and the boys. He worked at Friendship Homes, Karian Peterson as a lineman & currently worked for Key Contracting as a lineman. He always enjoyed his coworkers. Jon, Kim and the boys lived in Montevideo, Starbuck and in later years, they moved to Glenwood as they loved being by the lake. Jon and his friends were like brothers. The boys have been friends since they were in elementary school. They always enjoyed getting together for parties, playing cards, fishing, hunting and watching the Vikings. They would do anything for each other. When Jon came home from the service in 1995, he bought his best buddy, Bruno, a German Shepard. They were very close and Bruno was a loyal and great companion until his death.
