Johnny Rodriguez, age 70, of Willmar, Minnesota passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Cura Care Center in Willmar. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Friday, May 10, 2024, one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Johnny Rodriguez was born May 27, 1953 to Juan Rodriguez and Eloisa Ortega in Lubbock, Texas. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He attended school in various places as the family traveled around for migrant work, he eventually ended up calling Willmar, Minnesota his home.
Johnny was a kind person who would help out with anything. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, camping, and playing frisbee golf. The Eagles were his favorite football team and his favorite color was green.
Johnny is survived by his children, Hope Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez Jr., Rebecca Rodriguez, Angela Rodriguez, Teresa Rodriguez; step-daughter, Heather Castillo; seven grandchildren; siblings, Irene Ortega, Elouise Rodriguez, Crispin Rodriguez, Martin Rodriguez, Estella Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Lydia Castillo, Esther Castillo, Rachel Castillo, Mary Castillo; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is also survived by his significant other, Leann.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Eloisa; siblings, girl, Jose, Guadalupe, and Jesus.
