John R. Beltz

John Raymond Beltz was born on July 8, 1940, the son of L.R. “Tiny” & Lucille (Marble) Beltz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo and graduated with the Montevideo Class of 1958.
John worked most of his life as a bartender. He worked at the Sheep Shedde in Olivia for Denny Hanson, the Press Bar in St. Cloud for his brother Robert and at Deb’s Supper Club for his sister Mary.
John was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed watching all sports and would be able to tell you all the information you would need to know, no matter the sport or the team. He was known on occasion to even shoot a decent round of golf. He enjoyed hunting, starting at a young age with his father, two brothers and family dog Smokey.
John passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. He was 75 years of age.
He is survived by two brothers: Billy (Anita) of Alameda, California and Robert of St. Cloud; two sisters: Ginny and Mary both of Montevideo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one niece.
