John H. Anderson was born December 2, 1933 in Granite Falls, the son of Herman and Christina Anderson. He grew up in Hanley Falls and following the death of his mother, was raised for a period of time by his aunt and uncle, Sam and Mabel Schulz. Jack attended school in Hanley Falls and then graduated from St. Cloud Technical School. He was employed for over thirty years as a bricklayer and worked on many large projects in the Twin Cities including the Mall of America. He served his country in the Army as a corporal from 1956 to 1958.Jack was united in marriage to Rita (Kasowski) Anderson on August 10, 1963 and to this union four children were born. Jack is survived by his wife, Rita Anderson of Granite Falls, daughters Jacqueline (Jim) Jackson of Chicago; Mary Blomme (Marc) Christianson of Mankato; son John (Jana) Anderson of Eden Prairie; and daughter Anne (Don) Steffen of Granite Falls; grandchildren Jake Jackson, Jennessa Jackson, Jaina Jackson, Zac Blomme, Braden Blomme, Katelyn Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Paige Steffen and Alli Steffen. His is also survived by three sisters: Phyllis Hanson, Gloria Olson and Lynell McMahan and two brothers: Roger Anderson and Dan Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Valgene Anderson.Jack loved his family above all else and they adored him. His friends and family will forever remember his infectious laugh. Jack was a people person. He enjoyed having coffee with his buddies at least three or four times a day. Jack and his family spent many wonderful summer days at Lake Minnewaska fishing, boating and just enjoying each other's company.
