Jeff Flinn

Jeffrey Craig Flinn, Sr. was born on July 22, 1944, in Montevideo, MN, the son of Howard and Katherine Flinn. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1963.Jeff was a self-motivated man who took over ownership and operation of Flinn's Salvage Company in Montevideo from his father. After his retirement from the salvage business, Jeff purchased and operated Inn Like Flinn's Bar in Hancock, MN, where he was residing at the time of his death. Jeff enjoyed golf, travel, playing checkers, collecting waterfowl decoys, dancing, cooking, playing backgammon, listening to music and socializing with his many friends and clientele.He was united in marriage to Arlene Krueger on March 12, 1965 in Montevideo, MN. To this union two sons were born- Jeff Jr. and Jarrod. He was then united in marriage to Heidi Brandon on June 4, 1983, in Montevideo, MN, to which union was born three daughters- Jessie, Erica & Keelia.In the afternoon hours of Monday, April 18, 2011, following a brief illness, Jeff was called from this life while a patient at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, MN. He was 66 years of age.Surviving family include his children- Jeff Jr. (& Heidi) Flinn of Montevideo, MN, Jarrod (& Brigitte) Flinn of Montevideo, MN, Jessie Flinn of Minneapolis, MN, Erica Flinn (& Jeff) of Saint Cloud, MN and Keelia Flinn of Los Angeles, CA; 4 brothers- Donald (& Cheryl) Flinn of Aberdeen, SD, Gary Flinn, Greg (& Jane) Flinn & Dallas Flinn all of Montevideo, MN; 4 grandchildren- Katie Flinn (& Derek), Kayla (& Ryan) Beatty, Jeff Flinn III and Jordan Flinn all of Montevideo, MN; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Jeff is also survived by his significant other- Ginny Hoass of Hancock, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents- Howard & Katherine Flinn; an infant sister- Kathy Ann Flinn and a granddaughter- Amanda Kay Flinn.
