Jeanette Mary Marlow was born August 28, 1940 in Pipestone the daughter of Leonard and Rosalie (Starlight) Marlow. She passed away February 20, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She grew up in St. Paul attending Roosevelt Elementary and Junior High School, later graduating from Humboldt High School. On February 8, 1958 she was united in marriage to Louis Cook in Mason City, Iowa. To this union six children were born. After moving to Granite Falls in 1975, she worked at Firefly Creek Casino, initially as a pull tab attendant, then as purchasing manager for the casino before being elected to serve on the Upper Sioux Community Board of Trustees. On April 14, 1979, Jeanette was baptized and confirmed into the catholic faith at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Paul. She spent her retirement years in Granite Falls with her common law spouse, Lazaro Luna, until his passing in 1999. Jeanette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jig saw puzzles, word games and watching old movies. She is survived by her children: David (Darlene) Cook of Kodak, Tennessee, Peggy (Ed) Schindler of Granite Falls, Chris Murphy of Anoka, and Carrie (Kevin) Trutna of Granite Falls; sisters: Barbara (Wallace) Anderson of Wood Lake; Phyllis of Rush City; Joan (Don) Lockwood of Forest Lake; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, Lazaro's children and extended family. Jeanette was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Lazaro Luna; parents Leonard and Rosalie Marlow; half-sister Marion Roberts; brother Leonard Marlow Jr; daughter Lisa Cook; a son DeWayne Cook, and brother-in-law Hugh Burton
