Jay Lenning age 48 of Montevideo passed away Monday at his home surrounded by family and friends. Jay Dennis Lenning was born July 10, 1963 in Montevideo, the son of Dennis and Jan Lenning. He passed away December 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and friends after his brave and courageous fight with ALS.He was baptized into the Christian faith on November 22, 1963 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.Jay grew up and attended school in Montevideo graduating with the class of 1982. He continued his education at Granite Falls Vo-Tech in Machine Tool Technology graduating in 1984.On September 26, 1987 Jay was united in marriage to Kelly Mills and to this union two children were born.Jay began working at SL-MTI of Montevideo in 1985 and was employed there until the time of his diagnosis in August 2009.On November 14, 1998 Jay was united in marriage to Patty (Bode) Barron at Trinity Lutheran Church and they were able to spend 13 wonderful years together.Jay was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a former member of ABATE where he served as ?Sergeant at Arms?. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, his black labs, and spending time with family and friends; especially his children Ashley and Tyler. His true passion was his Harley Davidson motorcycle and going for rides with Patty.He is survived by his wife, Patty Lenning of Montevideo; daughter: Ashley Lenning (Tyler Johnson) of Montevideo; son: Tyler Lenning of Montevideo; step-daughter: Stephanie (Josh) Ronningen of Zumbrota; parents: Dennis and Jan Lenning of Montevideo; sisters: Lorri Maus of Montevideo; Lisa Libaire of Clara City; brother: Jack Lenning of Cottage Grove; step-granddaughter Emma Ronningen; nephews: Nathan Maus, Chase Christenson; nieces: Nikole Maus, Caitlin Maus, Kaylee Christenson; and father-in-law: August Bode of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents: Oscar and Alma Lenning; Ernie and Lorraine Kintzi; and mother-in-law Ordena Bode.
