Jan loved to entertain, always as the neighbor would say, “putting on the dog." She loved hosting the Hovland Holidays.
She was very active at Hazel Run Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Aide and Luther League Counselor along with her husband for nine years. Legion Auxiliary Member, Hazel Run Fiddle Footers Square Dance Club and Birthday Club. Jan also loved camping on weekends and traveling.
After her husband passed away in 2001, she moved to Montevideo. She continued to entertain with 9 am coffee with the neighbor ladies, wine time at 4 pm, holiday parties and summer BBQs in the gazebo.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special and important to her. She looked forward to those “pop in” visits.
