Janet Ellen (Lundeen) McCalla, age 83, of Granite Falls, Minnesota and formerly of Mesa, AZ and Dassel died on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Clara City Care Center surrounded by loved ones.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with Rev. Janine Olson officiating. Interment will be held at the Dassel Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Janet Ellen Lundeen was born June 18, 1941, in Cokato, Minnesota to Paul and June Lundeen.
Janet was united in marriage to Howard (Cotton) McCalla on February 25, 1961.
Janet was an active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and shared her gift of music for years.
Janet and Cotton moved to the Apache Junction-Mesa Arizona area for 25 years until their recent move back to Minnesota.
Janet’s home was the go-to place for family gatherings. She kept up that love and traditions from her mom along with bringing in her own flair. Janet enjoyed making greeting cards and sending them to family and friends with wonderful words from her heart. She always had a warm smile and time to listen to others. She will be remembered for her compassion and gentle spirit.
Janet is survived by her husband, Cotton; children, Jodi Bollman (David) and Jeff McCalla (Colleen); grandchildren, Andrew Bollman (Sarah), Jacob Bollman (Emmy), Jake McCalla (Amalia), Nena Hart (Josh); great grandchildren, Bria, Isla, Luca, Thatcher, Willa, Porter, Renner and Etta Bollman, Evika and Sophia McCalla, Clara Hart; brother, Mike Lundeen (Diane Taggert); sister, Joanie Swanson (Brad); along with loving family. Preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law.
