Janet Louise Gunter was born September 20, 1913, in Faribault County, Minnesota, and was the daughter of Albert and Harriet Louise (Campbell) Woolery. Janet was a graduate of the Montevideo High School Class of 1931 and the Minneapolis School of Business. She was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Campbell Implement in Montevideo. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Gunter, Jr. on October 18, 1941, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Montevideo. They made their home on a farm north of Clara City. In 1967, they retired and made their home in Clara City. Her husband died in 1991, after 49 years of marriage. In 2002, Janet moved to Prairie Park Place in Clara City; and, in 2007 to the present, resided at Luther Haven in Montevideo. She is survived by her daughter, Jana Ristamaki and her husband Brad of New Brighton, MN; one grandchild, Juli (Chad) Heer of Highland Park in St. Paul, MN; two great-grandchildren, Alex Heer and Sofia Heer; 1 brother, Charles (Norma) Woolery of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, son-in-law Jim Gough of Plymouth, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, daughter Beverly Gough, and four brothers, Warren, Lewis, Donald and Roger Woolery, and two sisters, Harriett Trolander and Marjorie Ross.
